The book Power of Focus written by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and Les Hewitt This is a great book and this is my perspective on what I have learned.
Quality is not an Act it’s a Habit and when a new habit is formed it becomes a new behavior and nothing will change until we do.
If you keep doing what you’ve been doing then you will continue to get what you have been getting..
To change a habit you need to start by identifying all the habits that we want to change. Make a list, write it down. Display your chang list in a prominent place that you will see often as a reminder. It is critical that you do this. It’s a proven fact that writing out clear and specific goals and keeping them where you see them often and reviewing them regularly is critical for the success in making the change we want.
Next, It will be helpful to get feedback from a highly trusted family members or close friends that knows you very well. Ask them for their opinion on the changes they think that you should make in order for you to have a better life. Make sure this person has your best interest and the wisdom necessary to assist you this. Keep this list sacred and don’t share with people outside of your circle of trust. Asking several trusted observers is helpful, focus in on overlapping things from each person as this is probably something that want to list as a priority.
You want to be very specific in identifying as you write your new life change list.
Clearly identify the habits the you need to change and develop a priority ranking for these changes. You need to work on one or two changes at a time. Don’t try to tackle them all at the same time.
To change your habit you need to look at your environment. It’s hard to become organized if you live in chaos. It’s hard to quit smoking when you live with a smoker, you get the idea. Our environment is critical to making a change however, if you want to make a change bad enough you can..
Take heart, the only thing you need to make a change is the commitment and discipline to do it. If you have a close friend that you trust make them your accountability partner. This can help you and them if they are making a habit change. WIN-WIN
Study the habits of successful people. Look at their discipline, how they schedule their time, what are health habits, life habits, family habits, the books or audio tapes they read or listen to, this will be very helpful.
Ask yourself if your willing to do what it takes to have the best life you want.
Remember today is the first day of the rest of your life.
What will you do with it?
